Linda Yaccarino, the former president of advertising at NBCUniversal, will follow Elon Musk as Twitter’s CEO, with an emphasis on business operations, he said on Friday.
Musk wrote on Twitter, “Looking forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the everything app.” As executive chairman, the multibillionaire entrepreneur intends to concentrate on innovative technologies and product creation.
Musk announced on Thursday that he had a replacement who would take over in around six weeks, but he omitted to identify them.
Yaccarino, an executive with NBCUniversal since 2011, served as head of worldwide partnerships and advertising.
The executive is leaving the firm with immediate effect, according to a statement released by NBCUniversal on Friday.
Is Linda Yaccarino a Democrat?
Yaccarino has experience working with both Democratic and Republican administrations, which should comfort users and advertisers about her ability to keep Twitter out of potentially toxic political seas.
