During the 2010–2011 season, Craig Anderson was a member of the Ottawa Senators. He participated in 18 games, winning 11, losing 5, and recording a GAA and save percentage of 2.05 and.939, respectively.
In his Senators debut on February 19, 2011, Anderson made 47 saves while blanking the Toronto Maple Leafs. A four-year contract extension between Anderson and the Senators was reached later in March 2011.
The following season (2011–2012), Anderson was among the league leaders and had won 29 games in 56 contests before being sidelined due to a right-hand injury sustained in an accident while cooking. The Senators acquired Ben Bishop from the St. Louis Blues before the trade deadline.
During that season’s postseason, the Senators faced the top-seeded New York Rangers in the Eastern Conference, and they made it to the series’ decider before losing 2-1.
In his first 10 games of the 2012–2013 season, Anderson had a record of 6-2-2, a GAA of 1.49, and a save percentage of.950. Due to his exceptional play, he was selected as the NHL’s first star for the month of January 2013 and was considered an early favorite to win the Vezina Trophy.
Anderson tripped and was hit by Chris Kreider on February 21, 2013, while competing against the New York Rangers, resulting in a sprained right ankle.
