This Sunday, businessman Paulo Figueiredo Filho, a friend of Olavo de Carvalho, took to social media to dispute the report that Bolsonaro’s mentor had died.
He, predictably, blamed the left:
“The story circulating in the left sector that Olavo de Carvalho would have died is incorrect,” commented Figueiredo, the dictator’s grandson. “The teacher is OK and taking a break.”

His eldest daughter, Heloisa de Carvalho Martins Arriba, indicted him for mistreating his children on occasion.
The entire package was wrapped in a letter, then published on Facebook. Olavo had even pointed a pistol at one of his children’s heads, according to the letter.
She further said that Olavo had a polygamous relationship, living with three spouses simultaneously.
Her siblings and Olavo rejected the charges, and he filed a lawsuit against her, claiming that she “distances herself from any touch with reality by spreading outlandish falsehoods and filthy obscenities.”
