Is Ben Shalom Jewish?
Ben Shalom told SunSport that his grandfather was a Syrian Jew, and his mom was a devout Irish Catholic. He further says “Shalom” is used as a greeting; however, it means peace.
He wants to work with everyone and do the best with the sport. He wishes to work with different promoters, managers, boards, and people from abroad.
He founded BOXXER, which is the fastest-growing promotional company in the UK. He may know the history and ways of boxing well, but he’s sure the sport is in dire need of change.
Ben Shalom’s Parent’s Religion
Ben Shalom has not disclosed his parent’s information to the public. The only information available about his family is his grandfather was a Syrian Jew, and his mom is a devout Irish Catholic.
Ben is the youngest licensed boxing promoter, but he doesn’t use social media as his mantra is “the fighters come first.” Ben is still trying to convince his parents.
He doesn’t wish to be front and center of every fight and press conference and wants the fighters to seize the limelight.
BOXXER was first known as Ultimate Boxxer, holding eight-man professional boxing elimination tournaments starting in April 2018 and preceding hosting a total of six tournaments under the original name.
In August 2020, Ultimate Boxxer was renamed to Boxxer and announced its first signee, Derrick Osaze who is the Ultimate Boxer 3 tournament winner.
The most notable, high-profile event associated with Boxxer was between domestic rivals Amir Khan Vs. Kell Brook on February 19, 2022.
In terms of how a new era will materialize, Ben wants to work with Sky to nurture young talent and put on the best shows possible for die-hard fans and newcomers alike. But for that to happen, he believes boxing needs to fundamentally alter how it does business.
Ben Shalom’s Family Background
Ben Shalom has not revealed information about his family background to the public. Shalom, a 27 years old boxing promoter, is the founder and CEO of BOXXER, who, alongside Bob Arum’s Top Rank, will now be broadcast live and exclusively on Sky Sports.
He is an entrepreneur with a background in music and whose initial motivation was to avoid his parent’s wish that he become a lawyer.
He grew up among local boxers in Manchester. He said he fell in love with fighters more than boxing. Their mindset, their resilience, their ability to block everything out.
He was desperate to create his path, and his entrepreneurial spirit led him toward business while reading law at university. He was always doing events-club nights, gigs, festivals, sold fast food, all while doing a law degree.
