Invesco Assurance Company Limited was placed under Statutory Management on 28th February 2008 and after intense restructuring emerged from Statutory Management on 18th Jan 2010.
The Company is licensed to transact all lines of general insurance business. INVESCO Assurance has its headquarters in Nairobi and 24 branches country wide. INVESCO offers a wide range of general insurance products to various segments and has a professional claims department that ensures fast claims settlement. Currently, over 90 per cent of INVESCO’s annual revenues are derived from the PSV sub-sector, a trend that the company is working to reverse through focusing on other general insurance business Lines.
The Company is leveraging on its experience and Business Model to expand vertically within the insurance industry, and horizontally to pursue opportunities in new core markets such as SACCO’s, Small and Medium entrepreneurs etc. To ensure the Company is positioned to respond to growth opportunities, INVESCO continually invests in new technologies.

The company is owed by the Matatu Owners Association through its subsidiary-Public Transport Investment Company Limited (PTICL). The company specialises in PSV insurance but it also underwrites other classes of risks in the general insurance segment.
As a player in the PSV sector, the company has products that meet the needs of all PSV carriers in the country. Many insurance companies do not offer insurance for PSVs because its regarded as a risky category.
