Sidney Moorer is the husband of Tammy Moorer, who was involved in the disappearance of Heather Elvis.
Sidney Moorer and his wife Tammy Moorer were found guilty of murdering and kidnapping Heather Elvis, 20, due to accusations against them.
According to the New York Post, Prosecutors claimed Tammy erupted in a “fire of envy.”
Who Is Sidney Moorer, Tammy Moorer’s Husband?
Sidney Moorer was the perpetrator of Heather Elvis’s disappearance along with his wife, Tammy Moorer.
Tammy Moorer, Moorer’s wife, supposedly discovered her husband’s romance before Elvis vanished. She frequently sent Elvis angry texts, despite her denial that she was involved in his kidnapping.
Despite security camera footage showing a truck purportedly transporting Sidney to and from the pier where Elvis’ car was found, Sidney insists the two only chatted twice for a short period and denied any wrongdoing.
According to phone records, the early hours of December 18 saw several calls between Elvis and Sidney using their phones.
According to ABC News, those who knew Heather Elvis, who is still missing, believe her relationship with Sidney, a married guy with three children, was not at all a secret.
“We all knew it,” according to Brianna Kulzer, a coworker and her former roommate asserted, “People made fun of her knowing he was already a married man.”
Heather frequently received insulting nicknames from the girls with whom we worked. Two women decided to contact the Tilted Kilt one day pretending to be Tammy, Sidney’s wife.
Sidney retweeted a joke by comedian Daniel Tosh that appeared to be subtly referencing the relationship on November 5, the day Elvis last saw Sidney (at least before her disappearance): “Hey married men, your options are to murder your wife or commit adultery. Not both. You get caught at that point.”
On November 19, the couple and their two kids departed South Carolina to travel by car to Disneyland for a vacation. They came back on December 11.
Kidnapping And Disappearance of Heather Elvis
According to her friends and relatives, Elvis moved past the relationship when the Moorers returned.
She decided to start attending church frequently with Warrelmann after accepting a position at a beauty salon in downtown Myrtle Beach, which would begin just before Christmas.
Coworkers at the Tilted Kilt observed that Elvis had gained weight and that her uniforms had increased by three bra sizes. Elvis was worried that she was expecting a child, possibly with Sidney. Her manager at the Tilted Kilt stated that she had one negative pregnancy test.
Around 1:15 a.m. EST, Schiraldi left Elvis at her apartment in Carolina Forest. The last person who saw her is said to have been him.
A five-minute call was made to Elvis’ cell phone from a payphone 20 minutes later. Soon after, Elvis called Warrelmann, who was then out of the country spending the holidays with her family.
Elvis reported that Sidney had called and requested her to meet him after announcing his intention to divorce his wife. Warrelmann advised her not to, calling her roommate “hysterical” during the talk. The call was terminated two minutes later. After 1:45 a.m. on December 18, it is still unclear exactly where Elvis is.
Around eight miles (13 kilometers) from her apartment, at the Peachtree Landing boat launch along the Waccamaw River in Socastee, Elvis’s green Dodge Intrepid was discovered that evening, parked perpendicular to the spaces it was in.
Elvis’ phone, keys, and handbag were not in the locked-up automobile when it was opened. She didn’t return calls on her phone and wasn’t at either her job or her apartment.
Schiraldi, the last person known to have seen Elvis, was swiftly exonerated as the missing person after Horry County police launched their inquiry.
The day after the automobile was discovered, a search of the region around the boat landing turned up nothing. Subsequent investigations by a group of rescue divers from Coastal Carolina University of the riverbed leading to Winyah Bay were also unsuccessful.
Later research revealed that a set of bones recovered close on New Year’s Day belonged to a male.
Sidney Moorer And Tammy Moorer’s Charges And Trial
Police identified Sidney Moorer and his wife as the criminals in charge of Heather Elvis’ disappearance as their investigations into the case progressed.
Sidney Moorer and his wife Tammy were detained on February 11, 2014, and they were accused of murder, kidnapping, obstructing the legal system, and indecent exposure.
To decide if Sidney was involved in Heather Elvis’ disappearance, a jury trial was held in June 2016.
The court declared a mistrial on Friday, June 24, after the hung jury failed to reach a verdict.
On August 28, 2017, Sidney appeared before a different jury to respond to the accusations about Heather’s case.
His conviction for obstructing justice came after his second trial.
The offender was found guilty of kidnapping Heather and conspiring to do so on September 18, 2019.
Sidney is serving his 30-year prison term at the Lee Correctional Institution in South Carolina.
Tammy Moorer also received a 30-year prison term for her involvement in the case.
The inmate’s attorney asked the state’s highest court in April 2022 to clear Sidney of the convictions that resulted from his obstruction of justice accusations.
The court rejected the appeal, despite the prisoner’s claims that he was denied a fair trial because “social media saturation pervaded the case.”
