Ike Perlmutter leaves marvel; Kevin Feige
The billionaire, who sold the titan of comic books Marvel to Disney in 2009, was informed on Wednesday that he will lose his job as a result of Disney integrating his Marvel Entertainment division with other divisions of the business.
Marvel Entertainment, which is mostly concerned with consumer goods, is not a part of Kevin Feige’s wealthy Marvel Studios division. The co-president of Marvel Entertainment, Rob Steffens, was also fired.
Perlmutter, who was renowned for his seclusion and thrift, purchased Marvel in 1998 through a toy business he owned. A little more than ten years later, he participated in the $4 billion sale to Disney, under the direction of Iger. He agreed to remain in his position as chairman of Marvel thanks to Disney.
