Ian Clark, a 2013 graduate of Belmont and current NBA player for the New Orleans Pelicans, has launched a campaign to collect money for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Memphis (BGCM) in order to engage, inspire, and empower young people.
To reach his target of $20,000 for BGCM, Clark has teamed up with Pledge It, an online platform that allows athletes to collect money for their team or charity depending on their performance.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America was always a place where Clark’s friends and family felt enriched, safe, and encouraged as he was growing up, the author says on the website.
They provided many of us with the building blocks to learn effective leadership techniques and the value of cooperation in a secure setting.
The programming offered by BGCA resonates across the country and needs our continuing support, especially in many historically neglected neighborhoods.
