Hugh Hudson Wife: Who Is Maryam d’Abo?

The role of Bond girl Kara Milovy in the 1987 James Bond movie The Living Daylights made Maryam d’Abo, a British actor, famous worldwide. She was born in Hammersmith, London, England, on December 27, 1960. Her father Peter Claude Holland d’Abo was Anglo-Dutch, while her mother Nino Kvinitadze was Georgian.

D’Abo joined an amateur theater group at the age of 13 while attending school in Geneva. At the age of 18, she enrolled in a foundation study at the London College of Printing, but she dropped out to join Drama Centre London’s drama school. After one term, she left school to pursue a career in movies. She debuted on the big screen in 1982’s low-budget Xtro, a science fiction horror movie.

She made frequent appearances in various movies around the middle of the 1980s, including two miniseries based on Sidney Sheldon’s books, Master of the Game and If Tomorrow Comes.

The Living Daylights, a James Bond movie, was Maryam’s big break. She played James Bond’s sidekick Kara Milovy opposite Timothy Dalton.

Through the middle of the 1990s, she acted in a number of feature films, including Double Obsession (1992), The Browning Version (1994), Solitaire for 2 (1994), and thrillers like Timelock (1996) and An American Affair (1997).

Maryam and her husband, filmmaker Hugh Hudson, whom she wed in November 2003, collaborated on movies as well. D’Abo underwent successful surgery for a brain bleed in 2007.
