How to reset ooma telo

The way you will factory reset the Ooma Linx device depends on the model of your device: It your model Linx device has a reset button on the bottom of the unit, press and hold the button. If the device does not have a reset button, plug it in.

If it is flashing red, that means your Ooma is not working yet. Check to make sure that your phone is correctly plugged into the PHONE port on the back of your Ooma Telo Base Station or Phone Genie.

If your connection is Modem-Router-Ooma, temporarily connect a network cable from your Ooma device home port, to the wired LAN port of a computer. Temporarily turn off Wi-Fi in the computer, if turned on. Reboot the computer. Access your Ooma Setup pages by typing http://172.27.35.1 in your computer browser window.

My cable modem, Ooma Hub, and router (which are connected in that sequence) are all plugged into the same power strip. To restart everything, I just eliminate the power strip, wait 5-10 seconds, and turn the power strip back on.

Using an Ethernet cable, connect the HOME NETWORK port on the back of your Telo Base Station to a computer. Use the computer and open up a browser to setup.ooma.com. Click on the Wireless tab on the left side of your screen and follow the directions to connect the Telo Base Station to your home Wi-Fi network.

Connect optional accessories such as the Ooma Wireless Adapter. Connect the included AC adapter to power the Base Station. Connect a computer or router to the Base Station for additional setup options. Push down and hold for 10 seconds while plugged in to perform a factory reset of the device.

Connect the modem to the internet port of your router. Connect the Internet port of Ooma to a LAN port on the router. Connect your computer to a LAN port on the router. Turn on the modem and wait until it syncs with your ISP.

If your Ooma device is connected Modem-Ooma-Router, access your Ooma Setup pages by typing http://172.27.35.1 in your computer browser window. The Ooma Setup pages open. Click on Internet, go down to INTERNET Port MAC Address: and change setting from Automatic to Use Built In. Click on Update device.

An additional external switch could be connected to the Ooma Telo’s Home port to allow additional devices to be connected through the Ooma Telo’s Home port. For security, the Ooma Telo’s Internet port and Home port would be separate with no common traffic.

If Ooma Customer Service is sending you the replacement Ooma Telo, then all you do unplug the old Ooma Telo and plug in the replacement Ooma Telo. Then send the old Ooma Telo back using the prepaid shipping label that is enclosed with the replacemant Ooma Telo.
