Do AC units have a reset button?
The obvious first step is finding the reset button. Most units have one on them. It’s usually fairly small and red. If you can’t find it, consult your AC’s manual to see where the button is located.
What does resetting AC do?
If you are cranking up your air conditioner but still not feeling the cool air, you may need to reset your thermostat. If the thermostat on your AC unit is not functioning properly, it will not be able to detect the temperature, and you will never get cool no matter how much you turn the dials.
Where is the reset button on AC?
Shut the power off. Usually there’s a shut off panel next to your unit’s compressor. Normally this should always be on. To reset, flip the switch off and do the same to your main electrical panel inside.
Why is my AC running but not cooling?
Condenser Unit is Blocked
If your air conditioner is running, but not lowering temperatures inside, one issue could be a blocked or clogged condenser coil. When operating correctly, the condenser fan draws air into the outdoor unit through the condenser coil to pull heat energy out of your home.
