Which pronunciation is correct American or British?
The most obvious difference between standard American (GA) and standard British (GB) is the omission of ‘r’ in GB: you only pronounce a written < r > if there is a vowel sound after it, so we don’t say it in PARK /pɑːk/, HORSE /hɔːs/ or FURTHER /ˈfɜːðə/.
Which pronunciation of either is correct?
Using English phonetics, [ EE-ther ] and [ AHY-ther ] are both correct. As a side note, giving “th” a phonetic Z (or S or F or D) sound is a common mispronunciation that can be corrected with practice.
