Click the download button next to the matching model name. After you complete your download, move on to Step 2. If your driver is not listed and you know the model name or number of your Benq device, you can use it to search our driver archive for your Benq device model.

The monitors can be used without installing drivers. The drivers can be used to display the BenQ logo on the screen, and may improve or upgrade the display quality.

right-click desktop, screen resolution, advanced settings, (under monitor tab) change to 144hz.

Does HDMI support 144Hz? Yes, depending on the HDMI version, resolution, and bandwidth. All versions of HDMI from HDMI 1.3 onward right through to HDMI 2.1 provide enough raw bandwidth for 144Hz, provided sacrifices are made in either color, chroma, compression, or resolution.

HDMI 2.0 is also fairly standard and can be used for 240Hz at 1080p, 144Hz at 1440p and 60Hz at 4K.

You don’t need an HDMI 2.1 connection for 120hz gaming, and many PC players have been able to experience 120fps for some time with an HDMI 2.0 connection. An HDMI 2.1 connection essentially allows for 120fps at 4K, or 8K at 60fps, while an HDMI 2.0 connection can allow for 120fps, but at either 1080p or 1440p.

In theory, though, HDMI 2.0 (effectively HDMI 2.0b since late 2016) can do 4K 120Hz. At most you’ll be able to get 120Hz in 1440p with some televisions and monitors, though you’re more likely to be limited to 120Hz in 1080p, even if you have a very fast 2K display.

Xbox Series S has an HDMI 2.1 port assuming it’s for pushing the tech but technically HDMI 2.0 supports 2K (1440p) resolution at 120hz. The targeted performance of the Xbox Series S is 2K at 120hz.

It is possible for 1080p to be supported at 120Hz on HDMI 2.0; unfortunately, very few solutions on-market are capable of actually utilizing this potential. Most monitors selling with HDMI 2.0, like the $500 ASUS PB287Q, are 4K displays that cap-out at 60Hz.

HDMI 120Hz at 1080p

As long as you have at least HDMI 1.4, 120Hz is doable on your compatible TV or monitor. You can even do up to 144Hz if your display supports it. For uncompressed higher resolutions, though, HDMI 120Hz connections need a next-generation HDMI connection.

Additionally, the HDMI 2.0 allows for 1440p at 144Hz and 1080p at 240Hz. Both 1.4 and 2.0 versions support the adaptive-sync i.e., AMD FreeSync technology.

Yes it does. Any HDMI cable will support 240hz refresh rate. Utilizing the refresh rate depends on the devices involved (such as an HDTV, monitor and PC).

So, when asking the question, does DisplayPort support 240Hz, the answer is emphatically yes. And at multiple resolutions too. It’s not the most capable cable standard out there anymore, but for most existing displays and graphics cards, it’s going to be your best chance for high refresh rate gaming.

Although you’ll find more devices that support HDMI than DisplayPort, in this context the answer to the question, ‘is DisplayPort better than HDMI,’ is an emphatic, yes. HDMI 2.0 supports a maximum bandwidth of 18 Gbps, which is enough to handle 4K resolution at up to 60Hz, or 1080p at up to 240Hz. HDMI battle.

DisplayPort is a much more capable cable type that has been the connection of choice for high-end monitors and graphics cards for years. Even DisplayPort 1.2, originally released in 2010, offers more bandwidth than all but the latest of HDMI standards. That doesn’t mean DisplayPort 1.2 is bad though.

Mini DisplayPort is literally just DisplayPort with a different shape connector. DisplayPort 1.2 has a maximum of 1920×1080 at 240Hz, or 2560×1440 at 144Hz, or 3840×2160 at ~75Hz, and supports inline audio, daisy-chaining, and G-SYNC/FreeSync (DP 1.2a).
