How to get rid of a snapchat account

Go to Snapchat’s account portal (https://accounts.snapchat.com/accounts/delete_account). This page can also be accessed by going to Snapchat.com, scrolling to the bottom of the page and selecting “Support.” Then go to “My Account & Security” and click “Account Information.” Finally, select “Delete An Account.”

Visit the delete account page

First of all you need to log in using your Snapchat credentials – if you‘ve forgotten them (maybe that’s why you‘re deleting your account) then click the ‘Forgot your password?’ link to get a reset link sent to your inbox.

What happens when you disable/delete your Snapchat account? When you select the ‘Delete my account‘ option, your account will be invisible to your connections. Your stories, memories, chats, snaps, and profile will not be visible to your friends on the app, or to anybody that wants to add you on their profile.

The trick to deactivating Snapchat

Unlike other social media platforms, Snapchat does not allow you to temporarily disable your account. The only way you can deactivate your Snapchat account is to go through the deletion process, which gives you 30 days to reactivate your Snapchat account.

While your account is deactivated, your friends will not be able to contact or interact with you on Snapchat. After 30 days, your account will be permanently deleted. This means that your account, account settings, friends, Snaps, Chats, Story, device data, and location data in our main user database will be deleted.

When you remove a friend from your friends list, they won’t be able to view any of your private Stories or Charms, but they‘ll still be able to view any content you have set to public. Depending on your privacy settings, they may also still be able to Chat or Snap you!

Snapchat’s servers delete posts from their databases after the Snaps have expired or have been opened as well. According to Snapchat, if you choose to delete the Snapchat app, your Snapchat Memories are still preserved. To access them, all you need to do is download the app again and log back in to the same account.

When you uninstall the app, you lose the ability to send Snaps to your friends. Your friends can still send you Snaps, of course, but the Streak would go for a toss as it is a two-way street.

Method 1.

If you have set up the sync feature of your Android phone with a Cloud account such as Google Drive, you can try to restore the lost photos or videos in Snapchat from the Cloud backup. Sign in your Cloud account; Tap your recent backups; Click restore to your Android devices.

Snapchat does automatically delete messages and snaps if they’ve been left unopened for a long time so if you leave the person blocked for a while, then they won’t be able to see your messages even if you decide to unblock them later.

Once you block someone, they‘ll no longer be able to view your story or snap/chat you. You‘ll be removed from each other’s friends list, and your username will no longer be searchable.

Blocking the Recipient

If you block them before they open the snap you don’t want them to see, your conversation will disappear from their profile, along with the problematic snap. However, the snap and the conversation will still appear on your account.

Snapchat now allows users to delete sent messages even if they have not yet been opened! Only the person who has sent the message can delete them.

Although you can‘t unsend photo or video snaps, you can unsend other types of content. “Unsend,” however, isn’t quite the right word to describe it. “Delete” is more appropriate. Snapchat’s Clear Chats feature allows users to delete chat messages they’ve sent to individuals or groups of friends.
