How do you work out scale drawings?
The scale is shown as the length in the drawing, then a colon (“:”), then the matching length on the real thing. Example: this drawing has a scale of “1:10”, so anything drawn with the size of “1” would have a size of “10” in the real world, so a measurement of 150mm on the drawing would be 1500mm on the real horse.

What is the scale factor of a drawing if the scale is 1 inch 6 feet?
The scale “1 inch to 6 feet” is equivalent to the scale “1 to 72,” because there are 72 inches in 6 feet. The scale “1 to 100” would make a scale drawing that is smaller than the scale “1 to 72,” because each inch on the new drawing would represent more actual length.
What is a scale of 1 100?
A 1:100 scale is the representation of an object and/or subject that is 100 times smaller that it’s real world size of 1. So when reading this scale, 1 unit is the equivalent and equal to 100 units.
What is the scale of 1 50?
1:50 is a ratio. it means you’re scaling 1 unit to 50 units. that could be inches (1“=50“) or miles (1 mile=50 miles) or anything else, but it’s a direct scale. that works better in metric, because their units scale in multiples of 10.

Model scales

|---|---|
| 1:56 | 5.442 mm |
| 1:55 | 5.644 mm |

| 1:48 | 6.350 mm |
What does a scale of 1 25 mean?
Well, 1:25 means that 1 ‘unit’ on the plan is 25 ‘units’ in real life, so 1cm = 25cm, 1ft=25ft etc.
How do I draw in 1 50 scale?
You could also say, 1 unit in the drawing is equal to 100 units in real life. So, if we were drawing a table that measured 100cm wide by 200cm long at a scale of 1:50, you would draw the table 2cm wide by 4cm long on your piece of paper. This is worked out by dividing the real life size (100cm) by 50 (1:50 scale).

What does 1/2 look like on a scale?
Half scale is 1:2. It is helpful to think of this as one unit on the drawing equals two units on the object. A small object can be enlarged on the paper and drawn in 2:1 scale. This means the drawing of the object is twice as large as the object itself.

What size is 1/4 scale in inches?
The 1/4 inch = 1 foot scale is the most common in the U.S. and is also referred to as 1/48 size because there are 48 units of 1/4 inch in 12 inches. Shown below are two different U.S. customary scales. The 1/4 inch scale on the left indicates that for every 0.25 inches measured there is 1 foot of real distance.
What is the difference between 1 24 and 1 25 scale?
For display purposes, 1/24th and 1/25th scale are close enough for horseshoes, as they say. The difference in size is about 4 percent. You won’t be able to swap engine or chassis parts between the two scales, though — one won’t fit with the other.

What size is 1/16 scale in inches?
Every inch on the replica equals 16 inches on the real tractor. The larger the scale, the smaller the denominator; a 1/16 scale toy is much larger than a 1/87. “Scale” doesn’t refer to actual size. For example, a 1/16 scale toy could measure 8, 12, or 14 inches long.
Which is bigger 1/16 scale or 1/32 scale?
1:16 scale means that the toy is 1:16th as large as the real machine. For example if an 8320 tractor is 16-feet long the reproduction will be 1-foot long. 1:32 scale means that the toy is 1:32nd as large as the real machine. For example if an 8320 tractor is 16-feet long the reproduction will be 6-inches long.
