Coronavirus – changes to our service

Some local Citizens Advice still can‘t give face to face advice. They might be able to help by phone, email or online chat instead. If you can‘t contact your local Citizens Advice, you can still get help by calling our national phone line or by talking to an adviser online.

You can talk about your issue with a trained adviser online. We’ll try to help you solve your problem or make good progress towards it. In some cases, we might need to send you to your local Citizens Advice or a specialist organisation. Chat’s usually available 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Citizens Advice service’s work involves providing advice on issues such as debt management and welfare benefits, housing, immigration and asylum, employment, consumer complaints and landlord-tenant disputes. Citizens Advice calculated that in 2016 it helped 2.7 million people with 6.3 million problems.

Initial appointment

Gateways operate as a drop-in service: you can walk in, no pre-booking required, and we will do our best to have an Advisor see you as soon as possible. On rare occasions we may be so busy that we ask you to come back at another time but we will do our best to see you as soon as possible.

Citizens Advice will not charge you to call our national phone service or consumer helpline, however your service provider might do. Calls to our national phone service and consumer helpline are free from mobiles and landlines. These numbers begin with 0800 or 0808.

These non-geographic numbers were introduced by Ofcom in 2007 across the UK. These numbers are usually reserved for non-profit organisations, charities and public support services. For this reason, 0300 numbers cost to call. They’re Not Free – 0300 numbers cost money to call and that’s the entire point.

03 numbers: UK-wide non-geographic numbers

Calls from landlines are typically charged up to 16p per minute. Typically, they are included in free call packages. However, if you call an 01/02 number outside of any inclusive minutes, they can cost between 3p and 65p per minute.

A call to a 0333 number costs the same cost as a regular call to a landline or mobile home. If your fixed telephony offers include phone calls, calls to 0333 numbers will be included in the same way. The 0333 numbers are not the same as 0800 and 0808 free, but there may be many free calling rate rates.

Organisations that use 0333 numbers want to offer their clients/customers a single point of contact that is likely to remain unchanged for a long time. Examples of such organisations are non-governmental organisations such as large registered charities, big businesses and government departments.

Changing your payment date.

If you want to change the date you pay your monthly bill, you’ll need to give us a call. To talk about a phone contract, call 333 from a Three phone or 0333 338 1001 (standard rates apply) from any other phone.

An 0333 number is now charged at the same rate as an 01 or 02 number and so will cost the same as calling a normal landline number. If you are using a mobile then the duration of the call to the 0333 number will simply be deducted from your monthly allowance, assuming you are on a contract payment scheme.

Portal 333 on tele2 is a special voice menu system that gives info for all entertainment and cognitive resources provided for by the operator company. That is, by calling 333, the subscriber could issue a subscription to the services of interest.
