Cleaning a Bulb Syringe

After using, clean the bulb syringe with hot soapy water and rinse in hot water. Be sure to clean the inside of the syringe by squeezing the bulb while the tip is in the soapy water. Rinse by repeating this action with clean, hot water several times.

Wash the jar, dropper, and bulb syringe in warm, soapy water after each use. Squeeze the bulb several times in the soapy water to clean out the mucus, shaking it inside the bulb before squeezing it out. Rinse with clear water by repeating the same process several times.

Use saline drops to clear the baby’s nose before feeding or sleeping. Use a warm washcloth or cotton swab to clean off dried, sticky mucus on nostrils.
