How do you clean used books?
Hold the book shut and blow the dust off each edge of the pages. Remove stubborn dust with a clean, dry paint brush, or a soft, new toothbrush. Remove smudges and pencil marks with an art gum eraser. This is softer than a rubber eraser, but you should still use it with great care to avoid tearing the paper.
How do you get stains out of hardcover books?
Remove any marks or stains from the pages with a white vinyl eraser. Pour rubbing alcohol into a cotton ball and squeeze out until it is no longer dripping. Never pour the alcohol directly onto the hard cover of the book. Gently wipe the hard cover of the book down with the cotton ball, using small circular motions.
