How to change scentsy wax

Even when the wax hardens, it can still be stubborn and not come out easily without the help of a butter knife or sharp tool. To avoid all of the mess from breaking it into pieces, simply pop your warming tray into the freezer for 10 minutes. The wax will shrink and slide right out of the tray.

When to Change Scentsy Wax

It might be hard to know when to change it, if you are waiting for the wax to diminish before you change out your Scentsy wax though! So, here’s the tip: change it when you can’t smell the Scentsy fragrance as strongly as you want.

Simply drop one or two cotton wool balls into the melted wax in your warmer dish. The cotton wool ball will soak up the melted wax. Simply throw the cotton wool balls away, wipe the dish with a piece of kitchen roll and then choose your new Scentsy wax fragrance!

To change wax melts if the warmer has been on for a while and the wax is in liquid form, take 1-2 cotton balls, place them inside the warmer, allow it to absorb, and dispose of the cotton balls when you are done. If any residue is left, wipe the remainder of the wax with a paper towel.

How many times can you reuse wax melts? According to Happy Wax, two or three wax melts provide about 8 hours of fragrance. Different brands have different burn times, but most fall within the 6-8 hours range. Many people find they can reuse the same wax melts several times before the scent slowly disappears.

IGI’s 4627 “Comfort Blend” holds the most fragrance of any wax we carry! It can hold 2 oz. of fragrance per pound (12%), and has excellent hot and cold throw.

There are a few reasons why wax melts are not emitting a scent. Light bulb wattage and the amount of wax in the warmer could affect the strength of your scent. The lower the wattage and amount of wax, the weaker the scent you will smell.

We also recommend heating your silicone molds with a heat gun just before you pour the wax into the molds to help your tarts come out smooth and shiny. DO NOT preheat your clamshell molds because if they get too hot you can melt or shrink them.

After you’ve poured the soy wax into a jar and left it to cool down, you may notice a white crystal coating sitting around the sides or sometimes on top of the wax. This is known as Frosting. It often looks unpleasant and your customer may think it’s the product of a poor quality candle.

If your soy wax candle looks grainy or shiny, it’s actually due to polymorphism. Larger crystals produce the grainy appearance, whereas small crystals appear “shiny”.
