How to change nipple piercing

Can you change your nipple piercing yourself?

Can I change my nipple piercing after 4 months? If the nipple is completely healed, yes. You can do it by yourself, but if you’re worried, you can go to the piercer. They might charge you for the service and the sterilized products they use during the changing process, but it would be worthwhile.

How long after getting nipples pierced can you change them?

Wait 3 to 6 months

During the healing process, the wearer should not change the stud provided at the piercing. After the piercing heals completely, the wearer can remove the stud and replace it with new jewelry.

Do nipple piercings hurt to change?

Nipple piercings hurt, but the real pain only lasts a second and any pain beyond that is totally doable. If the piercing hurts more than you think it should, talk to your piercer. If you notice any signs of infection, make an appointment with a doctor right away.

How do you know when your nipple piercing has healed?

We recommend checking for signs of complete healing after about 6 months or between 6 months and a year. You can tell that the piercing is healing well if there is no puss or crusties around the edges of the piercing jewelry.

Can nipple piercings heal in 2 weeks?

Healing process

A nipple piercing can take up to a year to fully heal. For the first few weeks and months, you can expect to see the following: Bleeding. Rinse and dry the piercing regularly to wipe away any blood and keep the area clean.

Do nipple piercings ever stop getting crusty?

While perfectly normal, these crusties do need to be cleaned carefully and thoroughly whenever you notice them. After cleaning the site for a few weeks, you will see less and less crusting until, eventually, it all disappears.

Should I pick the crust off my piercing?

After the first few days your body will excrete lymph as it begins to form the fistula inside your piercing. This lymph ‘crust‘ will likely collect on the jewelry or around the piercing. Do not pick at it. Piercings do tend to swell slightly — some more than others — during healing.

Should I remove crust from piercing?

Air circulation is important for the tissues to heal. Therefore, the ONLY reason for doing any aftercare on the piercing site, is to remove that crusting or scabbing, allowing air to get to the wound. (If you have a “skinned” knee or elbow, you should never remove the scab!

Is it normal for a nipple piercing to pus?

A common side effect of nipple piercing is an infection. If pus is coming from the piercing, it is a clear sign that there is an infection. Other signs of infection are subtler. The skin around the piercing may become red and irritated.

Do nipple piercings get infected easily?

Nipples are sensitive tissue and connected to milk ducts. A nipple pierce is more likely to get infected than some other types of piercings. Infections can happen well after you get your nipple or areola, the darker ring around the nipple, pierced.

Why does white stuff come out of my old nipple piercings?

Dr. Lin tells us that early signs may be subtle, but will likely include redness, warmth, swelling, discharge, and sensitivity around the piercing. White fluid or crust, on the other hand, is normal — it’s called lymph fluid, and it’s a sign that your body is healing.

Can you lose feeling in your nipples after piercing?

Does it affect/improve sensitivity? Personal experience says no, but for many women, whose piercings have healed nicely, their nipple sensitivity increased dramatically. Of course, you have to live with the fact that your nipples will be out of action while they heal.
