How to change birthday on tiktok

Can you change age on TikTok? There is no direct way of changing age on TikTok. The app asks a person to fill their date of birth right at the beginning when one is signing in to make an account on the app.

It will happen because children are not allowed to share videos on TikTok – it goes against the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act. The social media company is notorious for deleting accounts with obviously fake birthdays, so it may be time to update your actual birthday.

What age is TikTok recommended for? Common Sense recommends the app for age 15+ mainly due to the privacy issues and mature content. TikTok requires that users be at least 13 years old to use the full TikTok experience, although there is a way for younger kids to access the app.

Overall, Tik Tok’s community is toxic and is not safe for children, as many people follow users just to make fun of them and their videos (while sharing them on Instagram and calling them flops) which is essentially cyber bullying.

Long-Term Repercussions of TikTok. Using TikTok regularly, either as a consumer or content creator, increases your digital footprint. On its own, this poses great risks such as being more prone to phishing attacks and stalking.

According to its community guidelines, TikTok is “deeply committed” to child safety and has “zero tolerance” for behaviour that could lead to child abuse or sexual exploitation. He said the platform has become safer for kids thanks to a feature that allows users under 13 to view videos but not share them.

Your Personal Security Risk Is Low

That said, it’s up to the individual to decide what they want to share. “If you don’t mind a foreign government knowing what you are watching, where you are located, and what you might be saying to friends over TikTok, then you are likely fine,” Podnar says.

TikTok Trends

Another big reason why TikTok is so dominant is because of the prevalence of trends, such as dance challenges for popular songs or videos aligned with popular in-app filters. When users upload a video, the audio of that particular video can be lipsynced or used by other users.

ByteDance founder Zhang Yiming resisted the sale of TikTok last year despite calls from his large Western investors to do so. ByteDance, which counts General Atlantic and Sequoia Capital among its backers, was valued at $180 billion in December, according to investment data research company PitchBook.

According to them, a TikToker can earn between $200 and $20,000 for a branded video. The earnings depend on the number of TikTok followers you have and your engagement rate, meaning how often users interact with your account and like and leave comments on your short videos.

TikTok was set to be effectively banned in the United States on Nov. 12 after President Trump issued an executive order in August stating it was a national security threat due to its parent company’s ties to China. TikTok brought the lawsuit fighting the ban in D.C., and a court hearing is set for Nov.

Creators who have 1 million or more followers can get paid $1,000 to $5,000+ a month. But those who are under 1 million followers are usually not making any money at all. When it comes to how much viral TikTokers make, researchers say that TikTok stars could make up to $1M per post.
