Kat Graham’s musical career continued after her debut single, “Sassy,” was made available in October 2010. The song did not become a commercial success even though there was a music video to go along with it.
She didn’t let it stop her, and she published a number of covers, including those of Janet Jackson and Paula Abdul, for which Paula Abdul herself gave her respect and admiration. Graham also contributed a cover of “Only Happy When It Rains” by Garbage to the soundtrack for The Vampire Diaries in December 2010.
Graham became the first artist signed to a big label when she agreed to a recording deal with A&M/Octone Records in 2012. In March 2012, she made her single “Put Your Graffiti On Me” available, to generally favorable reviews from critics. Millions of people watched the song’s music video on YouTube.
On the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs list, it peaked at position #5. Graham’s musical talent attracted even more attention when, in May 2012, she made her television debut with “Put Your Graffiti On Me” on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
Graham’s debut EP, Against The Wall, was published later that month and debuted at position #54 on the iTunes Music Album Chart. Her second single from the EP, “Wanna Say,” grabbed popularity with a music video directed by Benny Boom and produced by London Alley. She is currently working on creating her debut album.
