David Lambie (13 July 1925 – 15 December 2019) was a Scottish Labour Party politician. Lambie was educated at Ardrossan Academy and at Glasgow University and Geneva University. He became a teacher and was chairman of the Scottish Labour Party 1965–1966.

Lammy considers himself English; he said: “I’m of African descent, African-Caribbean descent, but I am English.” In March 2021, Lammy was a guest on the London Broadcasting Company when he rejected a caller’s assertion that the dual identity of African-Caribbean descent and British nationality are impossible.
