Amanda Nicole Perez is a Mexican-American R&B singer-songwriter and record producer. Amanda Perez was born and reared in the city of Fort Wayne, Indiana. She grew up in Fort Wayne’s Waynedale neighbourhood and attended North Side High School. She spent her adolescent years peddling drugs to help support her family. She also grew up boxing with boys, which contributed to the development of her nasty street reputation. In 2001, Amanda was found by a talent scout in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, and signed to the independent record company “Powerhowse/Silverstone Records.” In 2002, she released her debut album “Where U At?” which featured the singles “Never” and “Angel.” “Never” reached #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 sales chart, but the album did not chart until it was re-released by Virgin Records under the new title “Angel” to a larger distribution area. “Angel,” Perez’s most successful track to date, reached #20 on the Hot 100 sales list and #3 on Top 40 radio. Mighty Perez’s music videos were directed and produced by Mike Quinn of Silverstone/Powerhowse Records, and were appeared on MTV, VH1, and BET.
