“Gone, Gone, Gone” was also the “send-off” song for American Idol’s twelfth season, playing as the background music during the montages highlighting each week’s eliminated finalist. The song may be heard in the movie “The Amazing Spider-Man 2.”
Phillips was nominated for Best New Artist at the American Music Awards in 2013, joining Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood as the only American Idol winners to do so.
Phillips said in March 2013 that he was continually working and that his second studio album would be published in 2014.
