After making her breakthrough at Atlantic Records, Debbie Gibson continued her musical career thereby creating two more albums. The first of these CDs, “Anything Is Possible,” was made available in 1990.
Its title song, which was co-written with Motown songwriter Lamont Dozier, peaked at number 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 list in 1991. Successive singles from the album didn’t make the Hot 100 chart, but “One Step Ahead” did okay, peaking at numbers 21 and 18 on the Hot Maxi Singles and Hot Dance charts, respectively.
In addition, Gibson was a member of a supergroup that created the charity single “Voices That Care,” which peaked at number 11 on the Hot 100 chart.
In 1992, she contributed a rendition of “Sleigh Ride” to the charity album “A Very Special Christmas 2,” which went double platinum and reached number 7 on the Billboard album chart.
In 1995, Gibson signed a deal with EMI’s SBK Records division, under which she issued her lone album, “Think with Your Heart.” Adult contemporary ballads with piano and keyboards, which were recorded with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, made up the majority of the music on this CD.
Gibson once had the rare experience of working with producer Niko Bolas, who was frequently linked to Neil Young, on the reunion record for the punk band Circle Jerks.
