Gaelic football analyst Joe Brolly married his long-term partner Laurita Blewitt in an intimate ceremony in May.
The love birds tied their knot in an intimate ceremony in the presence of around 100 friends and family at The Ice House hotel in Ballina. Joe and podcaster Laurita got engaged in late 2021.
Joe is a former player and barrister who competed at the senior level for the Derry county team. He played for the team in the 1990s and early 2000s and became part of the country’s only All-Ireland Senior Football Championship winning side in 1993.
He also amassed four National League titles and two Ulster Senior Football Championships. He played club football for St Canice’s Dungiven for most of his career. Joe later transferred to St Brigid’s GAC in Belfast.

Friends and family were delighted as they witnessed Joe Brolly and Laurita Blewitt tie their marital knot in her native Mayo.
Both exchanged vows surrounded by family and friends on the beautiful banks of the river Moy while overlooking views across the stunning river and out to the Wild Atlantic Way.
After the “I do,” guests enjoyed a party at the Knockmore GAA club in Ballina. Clutching a bouquet of beautiful pink and white roses, the bride looked gorgeous in a long sparkling white dress with delicate lace sleeves.
Brolly rocked a flecked three-piece suit and matching orange tie. The pretty brunette looked delighted to marry the love of her life. They have been together for several years; however, the exact period of their togetherness is unknown.
Guests at the nuptials included comedian Conor Moore, the famous comedian responsible for Conor’s Sketches, stand-up comic Tommy Tiernan and Hector Ó hEochagáin, and promoter Peter Aiken.
Joe Brolly Family Life
Born on June 25, 1969, in Dungiven, County Londonderry, Northern Ireland, Joe Brolly is the son of Francie Brolly and Anne Brolly.
His mother, Anne, is an Irish Aontu and former Sinn Fein Councillor who served on Limavady Borough Council. His father, Francie, was a renowned Irish musician, teacher, and republican politician from Dungiven, Northern Ireland.
Francie played Gaelic football for Derry in the 1960s and later served as Sinn Fein councilor and MLA. In 2003, the musician was first elected to the Northern Ireland Assembly and was re-elected in 2007 as a Sinn Fein member of the East Londonderry constituency.
Joe attended Siant Patrick’s Grammar School, where he played basketball for Ireland. After school, he joined Trinity College Dublin and studied law before doing a postgraduate course at Queen’s University Belfast.
