Heidi Hemmat is an American former Investigative Reporter who worked at KDVR for 15 years, until 2016. She was born and brought up in Colorado, United States. During her time at KDVR, Heidi won six Emmy awards for the station. Currently, she owns and runs a legal documentary production company, Heidi Hemmat Productions. She attended Colorado State University from where she graduated with honors in 1993.
Hemmat always wanted to work in her hometown. Her dream became a reality when she was hired as a Reporter for KUSA in 1999. Her first day on the air in Denver was the saddest and most memorable day of her life. It was April 20, 1999–when 13 people were shot and killed at Columbine high school.
