Ghana Movie Awards
Creating such a platform simply means appreciating good works, motivating and inspiring others to do better. Established by the film industry in Ghana, the Pace Setter Film Awards Platform is indeed a renowned flagship event. The Ghana Movie Awards, established in 2009, was designed to celebrate Ghanaian art. Film producers, actors, actresses, off-camera crews and other stakeholders across the country gather at this platform once a year to celebrate great achievements in the film business.
Ghana Movie Awards, which was originally owned by Phred Nuamah, was sold as a franchise to Zylofon Media in 2017. After the transaction, the company received the right to host and organize the event for 10 years. Zylofon announced his newly acquired rights in 2017 after introducing five actors newly signed under his direction, James Gardiner, Toosweet Annan, Bibi Bright, Zynnell Zuh and Benedicta Gafah.
The Ghana TV Series Awards were formed from the Ghana Movie Awards, another platform. The purpose of this award is to recognize good works in the TV series category.

Another name that can’t be overlooked is IvanQuashigah, an A-list director and the one who piloted the popular TV series “Yolo.” Winner of the Best Directing Tv Series award at the 2016 Ghana Movie Awards, Quashigah has been described by many as a legend in the film industry for his unparalleled work and significant contributions. Quashigah is not only a director, he also owns his own film production house, FarmHouse Production, where many Ghanaian hit films are shot.
Shirley Frimpong Manso is also a household name in the Ghanaian film industry. Shirley is a renowned writer who, alongside other Big Shot peers, has managed to put Ghana on the map. Manso made Ghana proud when she won the Best Director award at the 6th Africa Movie Academy Awards. She also owns a film production house – Sparrow Production – which also does advertising.
