Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to
apply for a Gambian Visa.

  • An international  passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended arrival date and must have two blank pages for visa stamp.
  • Duly completed and signed visa application form.
  • If the applicant is a minor, the parents/legal guardians have to sign the form.
  • Passport-size photographs (2” x 2”) taken against a white background.
  • A complete travel document.
  • Proof of financial status to cover your duration of stay in Gambia.
  • Proof of accommodation.
  • Copy of return flight ticket.
  • Documentation showing applicant’s ties to home country.
  • Documentation confirming the purpose of travel to Gambia.
  • Copy of travel itinerary.
  • Flight return or onward ticket.

Facts about Gambia

The Gambia is known for its wildlife and diverse ecosystem. There are various national parks in different locations around the country which offer various wildlife. Kiang West National Park and Bao Bolong Wetland Reserve have animals like monkey, leopards, hippos, hyena and rare birds. Crocodiles can also be found in the Abuko Nature Reserve. Asides the abundance of wildlife, the country has beaches which also offer other exciting activities for tourists.
 
Tourism in the Gambia has been on the rise since it started with 300 Swedish tourists in 1965.

Gambia Tourist Visa Eligibility &
Requirements

  • Thailand citizens who intend to visit Gambia for tour, sight-seeing, vacation, visitation and other recreational purposes can apply for this visa. 
  • Gambia tourist visa is valid for a duration of 90 days and it can not be extendable except for some important reasons.
  • A passport valid for the duration of your stay with a blank page for visa stickers.
  • A completely filled and signed tourist visa application form.
  • Applicants are required to provide a certificate of yellow fever vaccination.
  • There are no currency restrictions for entry and exit in Gambia.
  • Travelers who stay beyond the expiry of their visa are fined 1,000 dalasis per month for overstaying their visa. 
  • Applicants who wish to extend their stay can apply for an extension of stay at the Department of Immigration in Banjul.
  • Flight return or onward ticket.
  • Proof of accommodation in Gambia.
  • Bank statement or payslip to show proof of sufficient funds to cover your duration of stay in Gambia.
  • A letter of invitation from a friend or relative in Gambia. (for applicants traveling for visitation).
  • The invitation letter must state the residential address and contact details of the applicant.
  • Proof of paid visa application form. 

Gambia Business Visa Eligibility &
Requirements

  • The Gambian business visa is a visa issued to foreigners visiting Gambia for business purposes.
  • Thailand citizens who intend to visit Gambia for conferences, exhibitions, trade fairs or to meet with business partners can apply for this visa.
  • Foreigners in Gambia on a business visa are not allowed to take up paid employment.
  • An invitation letter from the Gambian company you are visiting is required.
  • This letter must contain their detailed address, your entry date and the purpose of your visit to Gambia.
  • If the intention is to attend a meeting or seminar an invitation from the conference organizer is required. 
  • A letter from your employer in Thailand allowing your business trip. 
  • A certificate of business registration of the company you are meeting with in Gambia is required.
  • If you have had previous business dealings with the company you are meeting with, you are required to present proof of this.
  • Bank statements to show proof of sufficient funds to cover your period of stay in Gambia.
  • Self-employed are required to submit proof of business registration or business license.
  • Either the applicant employer in Thailand or the business partner in Gambia must be ready to state coverage for the applicant’s business trip.
  • Flight return ticket.
  • Proof of paid visa fee.
