Flying Eagles coach Ladan Bosso has explained why he cut 15 players during training camp.
Last weekend, the impacted players were removed.
The Flying Eagles arrived in Abuja last Monday to begin preparations for the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations.
Bosso explained to Brila, “Players with injuries are not accepted because the national team is not a rehabilitation centre, so go and finish your treatment and possibly meet us in January.”
“So, I gave them that full break within the next two weeks. And those with passport issues, if you don’t have a passport, there is no way you can play in the national team.”
As the team ramps up its preparations for the upcoming competition, Bosso has extended invitations to additional players.
Before taking their annual Christmas and New Year vacation, the Flying Eagles played three exhibition games last week.
From February 18th to March 12th, 2023, Egypt will play host to the Under-20 African Cup of Nations.
