Kate is next seen in a hospital bed, with scenes from the preview showing her begging her son Rex to save her as she does not want to pass away.
There is also a concurrent storyline featuring the characters Eric and Brady trying to get an orchid from another character named Kristen. This orchid is essential as it could be the key to saving the lives of all the characters afflicted by the virus.
The last scene in the preview consists of the heart-rate machine flatlining but without revealing which character has passed away. Due to the prominent usage of Kate by the media, many assume she’s the one.
