Maj. Gen Dany Fortin is a Canadian Armed Forces officer who has an arrest warrant issued against him for sexual assault. He served as the Vice President of Logistics and Operations of the Public Health Agency of Canada under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Fortin started the position on November 27, 2020, and continued till May 14, 2021. He led the federal government’s COVID-19 vaccine rollout. The Department of National Defence announced that he got removed from the PHAC assignment because of a military investigation.

According to CTV News, Maj. Gen Dany Fortin denied the charge and will present himself in court at 9 am EDT. Dany will speak to the media for 15 minutes and make a public statement outside the police station in Gatineau, on Wednesday.
Fortin’s federal court hearing got scheduled for September 28 and 29 for two days.
What Did Dany Fortin Do?
The prosecutors in Quebec charged Dany Fortin, and they confirmed the charge of sexual assault in a tweet. The charge is from an incident that took place in 1998, somewhere between January 1 and April 30, reports CBC.
The spokesperson from the National Defense said that it would be inappropriate to comment further as it is still a moving legal process. The charge against Dany has now involved the Canadian military.

In the ongoing investigation, former chief of defense staff, Jonathan Vance, is also facing a charge of obstruction of justice.
Fortin requested for reinstatement or be assigned to another position that suits his rank in an official request for judicial review. He believes that the decision to remove him was political.
