He won six consecutive World Rowing Championship gold medals in the coxless pair and two more gold medals in the coxless four & coxed pair. Between 2012 and 2014, he set two world records in the coxless and coxed pairs, which are still the best in those boat classes as of 2021.
Eric Murray Dancing With The Stars Son
Eric Murray, a two-time Olympic gold medalist in rowing, has retired from the sport, but he believes his most difficult battle is yet to come in securing a bright future for his autistic son. Eric Murray has a son with Jackie Robertson named Zac.
Jackie’s doctor advised her that she might not be able to bear a kid because she had previously miscarried. When Zac was 18 months old, he wasn’t speaking with his parents effectively. Eric had just won gold in London in 2012 and was at the height of his rowing career.
Zac is currently shared between Eric and Jackie. The couple seems to equally love and take care of their son.
Eric Murray Married Life
Eric Murray married Jackie Robertson, Gary Robertson’s eldest daughter, in 2006. His father-in-law was a 1972 New Zealand eighth member that won gold in Munich, Germany, at the Summer Olympics.
In front of a large crowd, the pair exchanged wedding vows and kissed to complete their ceremony in 2006.
Eric Murray has said that rowing played a significant role in his divorce. Eric Robertson, an Olympic gold medalist in rowing in 2012 and 2016, divorced his wife, Jackie Robertson, in 2019.
