Spain previously anchored KOMU 8’s morning newscast from 2012 to 2014 before taking a job as a reporter at WFMY in Greensboro, N.C.

She’s the kind of journalist that can tell a story that makes you cry one day then tell a story that makes you angry enough to demand to change the next day. Those are rare,” said KOMU 8 News Director Randy Reeves.
Spain is a graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism. Her reporting has been recognized by the Missouri Broadcasters Association, the Kansas City Press Club, and the Society of Professional Journalists.

Spain is passionate about uncovering the truth and is determined to give all sides of a story a voice. She looks forward to being an advocate for Mid-Missouri, where she is returning with her husband, Travis, and her daughter, Catie. She loves music, Mizzou football, scary movies, and spending time outdoors.
