Mae Martin is a Canadian-British comedian and actor. They are best known for writing and acting in the Netflix/Channel 4 show, Feel Good. The show, which ran for two seasons, is loosely based on the life of Mae.

Comedian Mae Martin underwent top surgery back in late 2021. Mae had the cosmetic procedure in Toronto.
According to GQ Magazine, Martin went through the surgery around Christmas time to remove her breasts. At the time, she was in Toronto to visit her parents.
The procedure happened while she was filming the Kaley Cuoco starrer comedy series, The Flight Attendant. During the first season of the show, Mae had to bind their chest while shooting; hence, the removal of her breasts didn’t affect her role in The Flight Attendant.
After the surgery, Martin only had a few weeks to recover as the shooting of the second season of the HBO Max show was approaching soon.
Despite undergoing the hefty process, Martin was satisfied at last as she felt more relaxed and could finally appear as her true self.
Mae Martin Has Never Kept Long Hair
Mae Martin has not kept long hair; they have been a tomboy their entire life.
The only time Mae was seen flaunting long hair was in a 2014 photo they shared on Instagram.
While short hair has its benefits for Mae, it has also made them a frequent target of online trolls.
The comedian-actor previously mentioned that they were unfairly assumed to be lesbian due to their tomboyish looks. Mae added that people often found it hard to believe that the actor was interested in dating men simply because of their hairstyle.

Mae’s relationship with a former boyfriend named Ian Peach has been the subject of many of their jokes.
The Canadian-British comedian opened up during a stand-up act that they were in the ninth grade and only 13 years old when their romance with Ian started.
Unfortunately, the two dated for only six months until Ian broke up with them over a phone call. Martin added that Ian was with his friends who were all laughing in the background when he called to break up.
Years after the split with Peach, Mae was asked “Why are you gay?” during an interview. At the time, the comedian wasn’t expecting such an invasive question and, thus, didn’t have a pre-thought sharp reply.
Amid the confusion, Mae answered “Maybe Ian Peach in grade 9” as the possible reason for them becoming gay. However, the magazine misquoted their reply as “Maybe eating a peach in grade 9”. This led to massive confusion in the Martin household as their mother wondered if Mae’s brother was gay too as he had eaten the same peaches during his childhood.
Besides Ian, Mae was also in a committed relationship in the 2010s. During a performance at the Just For Laughs festival in 2015, the comedian opened up about their recent breakup.
