Ahkil Crumpton is the person who is arrested on suspicion for the murder of Elijah Wood. Here is everything to know about the former UGA receiver. 

Almost a year after the incident that took the life of Elijah Wood, the police have taken a man in custody. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office just gave the information about the arrest after they took Ahkil Crumpton under custody.

The 23-year-old Elijah Wood was shot to death while working at the RaceTrac gas station. And through surveillance footage and help and coordination from the local people, the police were able to finally make an arrest.

Ahkil Crumpton has been arrested for the murder of Elijah Wood.

As per the Oconee County Sheriff’s Department, they have been tracking the guy since Mid-February when they got the tip on the gun that was used during the shooting. They announced the arrest on Wednesday, March 16.

Further details reveal that Crumpton played college football for the University of Georgia. He was a wide receiver and played for UGA in 2017 and 2018. Also, he was a student of the University until 2021.

Ahkil Crumpton is currently under the custody of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office In Georgia.

Given the nature of the crime, Ahkil may be tried for first-degree murder, use of an illegal weapon, and many more charges. If found guilty, he will have to spend a minimum of 20 years in prison.

No trial date has been set yet though. The arrest has been made just recently and there are a lot of procedures to go through until there is a declaration of the trial date.

It’s a good thing for estranged family and friends who were still trying to move on from the accident. They have finally found justice.
