Elaine Lordan (born December 15, 1966 in Islington, London, England) is a British actress who has appeared in a number of films. Lordan is best known for her role as Lynne Hobbs in the BBC soap opera EastEnders, which she played from 2000 until 2004. She has also featured in a number of other television shows. Lordan was fired from the programme in the middle of 2004 when allegations of intoxicated behaviour on and off the set surfaced. In her previous life, Elaine worked as an aerobics teacher for 10 years before winning the part of Lynne Hobbs on EastEnders. Elaine featured in two episodes of Gimme Gimme Gimme as Sugar Walls, Linda La Hughes’ Eurovision-singing sister, in the television series Gimme Gimme Gimme (1999: credited as Elaine Morgan, 2000).

She also featured in the 1996 films Game On, Tucker’s Luck, and Casualty, in which she played Mandy’s undergraduate buddy Julia. She competed on the fifth season of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! in November 2005, but she was removed from the jungle after passing out twice in the camp within a day of arriving. Despite the fact that the doctors determined she was in good health, the producers decided she wasn’t up to the rigours of the show and removed her from the jungle. She was the first contestant to be eliminated from the seventh season of Soapstar Superstar in 2007, after her performance of Bonnie Tyler’s “It’s a Heartache.” She married Peter Manuel in December 2005, and her son, who was one at the time, died a few days later after undergoing surgery for a diaphragmatic hernia a few days later. Sadly, this tragedy occurred just nine months after her mother, Bernie, committed herself. In 2007, she got pregnant for the second time, but had a miscarriage.

A further sorrow struck her family in April 2008, when her father passed away due to a degenerative disease. Whatever It Takes: A Story of Family Survival, which she authored about this period of her life, is available on Amazon (2008). Lordan is a supporter of the Labour Party and has expressed his displeasure with the Conservative Party, particularly with its previous leader and prime minister Margaret Thatcher.
