Egypt Tourist Visa Eligibility &
Requirements
- Egypt issues a tourist visa to Sudanese for various short stay purposes.
- Individuals who want to travel for sight-seeing, tourism and leisure purposes can apply for this visa.
- If you want to visit families or friends residing in Egypt, you are also eligible for this visa.
- The Egyptian tourist visa is usually valid for a period of 90 days and allows for a single entry into the country. This means that when you leave Egypt, you cannot use the same visa to re-enter, you will have to apply for a new visa.
- A letter of invitation is required for those going to visit friends or relatives. The host in Egypt is required to write the invitation letter, stating the relationship between the applicant and host, duration of the trip and intended places of visit during the trip.
- Tourists are expected to register at a tour5ing company and submit a support letter from their travel agency.
- Proof that the applicant does not have HIV/AIDS is required. The proof should be a certificate of health issued by a renowned hospital.

- Egypt does not allow travellers to enter the country with money over $10,000, any individual caught entering or exiting Egypt with an amount over that will be fined and the money will be confiscated.
- Overstaying your visa for more than a month will incur a fine of 1505 EGP.

- This is the only legal way to work in Egypt.
- Egypt’s growing economy makes it a popular country for skilled workers seeking jobs overseas. There are a number of business opportunities available for foreigners. To be able to work in the country, aliens need a valid work visa for Egypt.
- Before applying for a work permit, ensure you have been given a job in Egypt.
- Your Egyptian employer will be required to send a memorandum stating why you were employed in the place of a qualified native of Egypt.
- A copy of your academic qualifications and resume should also be presented during the visa application.
- Applicants are to provide copies of their employer’s incorporation contract.
- Two copies of your tax ID should be submitted.
- You are required to obtain a letter of approval from the Egyptian State Security service through the Ministry of Manpower. This letter should state that you are not a threat to national peace and security.
- The Egyptian police have the right to stop, question and detain individuals found without the appropriate ID card or permit.
- An Egyptian work visa is usually issued for a stay period of one year but can be renewed and extended for up to 5 years.
- A quota is used to limit the number of work permits issued each year.

Requirements
- Student visa is issued to foreign nationals who want to undergo any form of study, internships or training in Egypt.
- This visa is issued for one year and is extendable for the duration of the course of study.
- Before applying for this visa, ensure you have been offered admission into an Egyptian institution.
- Applicants are to have a sponsor or sufficient funds for the duration of their studies. A recent bank account should be provided as proof.
- Students under scholarship should provide a certificate showing the amount of scholarship and how long the scholarship is valid for.
- Students are required to have 29.316 or 23.523 EGP per month to cover their monthly expenses in Egypt.
- Most institutions provide their students with accommodation facilities. In case you will not be staying in these facilities provided, details of your accommodation for the duration of your study in Egypt should be provided.
- Your transcripts of previous degrees earned or results from previous schools attended should be submitted along with other required documents in order for the visa processing to be quicker.
- It generally takes 10 working days to process an Egyptian visa. However, it can take longer if the consul requires additional documents or if the information provided is found to be false.
- Persons travelling to Egypt are advised to have a dummy flight ticket as there is no guarantee of the applicant getting the visa even though all the conditions are met.
- Institutions require that the students undergo a test for HIV/AIDS.
- A visa to Egypt costs 90 USD. Fees are to be paid before the visa is processed and these fees are non-refundable.
