Dr DisRespect, born Herschel “Guy” Beahm IV is a Twitch streamer and internet personality from the United States. He has amassed over 3.3 million followers on the platform.

He is best known for playing battle royale video games, such as H1Z1, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, Fortnite Battle Royale, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Apex Legends.

Dr DisRespect Career

The character of Dr Disrespect came from Beahm playing Halo 2 on the Xbox. The game had proximity voice chat in which players could engage each other, in real-time. This created an opportunity for him to exhibit a “dominant character” as he was no slouch at the game and could (in his words) “back up the talk, which made it more genuine.” He created this persona in 2010.

He and his roommates started posting content to YouTube on the 5th of January in 2010. His debut video was posted on the 11th of January. The video exhibited gameplay of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Gaming channel Machinima featured him in multiple videos, mostly playing Call of Duty. In late 2011, he went inactive from YouTube and did not release any content for close to five years.

Twitch Streamer Dr DisRespect

While he was working at Sledgehammer, Beahm joined Justin.tv (now Twitch). In 2015, he quit Sledgehammer to focus on a full-time streaming career.

He gained a following from playing battle royale games. Prior to switching to PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, he initially started with H1Z1. He then moved on to Fortnite Battle Royale and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4.
