Dominique Moceanu Net Worth, Income, Salary, Earnings, Biography

Dominique “Domi” Helena Moceanu is a former American gymnast who was born on September 30, 1981. She was a part of the 1996 U.S. Women’s Gymnastics team that won the Olympic Gold Medal in Atlanta (the “Magnificent Seven”). Daring feats on the balancing beam and feisty, creative presentations on the floor exercise were the trademarks of Moceanu’s gymnastics in the early stages of her top career. She later acquired a more beautiful, mature approach under the guidance of new instructors. She was often at her best in National competitions. Although she was never regarded as a particularly clean or creative gymnast, her beam and floor routines showed a high degree of difficulty and individuality.

Coaches Marta and Béla Károlyi, as well as Luminia Miscencu and Mary Lee Tracy, worked with Moceanu. She was named to her first National Team at the age of ten and competed for the United States in a number of important international events as a youngster. She was the 1992 Junior Pan Am Games all-around silver medalist and the 1994 Junior U.S. National Champion. She became the youngest gymnast to win the senior all-around championship at the United States National Championships in 1995, at the age of 132.

She was the youngest member of both the 1995 World Championships team and the 1996 Olympic gold-medal-winning team, the Magnificent Seven, and was well-liked by both the general public and gymnastics enthusiasts. She is the only gymnast under the age of 14 to participate lawfully in an Olympic Games. Moceanu’s most recent significant achievement in gymnastics was winning the all-around gold medal at the 1998 Goodwill Games, when she was the only American to do so. Her attempts to compete in the Sydney Olympics were hampered by family problems, coaching changes, and injuries, and she retired in 2000. She’s continued to compete in gymnastics shows, work as a coach, and pursue her post-secondary education since then. She is a mother of two children and is married.
