However, just over a month after his 73rd birthday, he found out that he has cancerous growth. But, it was thanks to his wife, who had insisted on him going to the doctor for the checkup. Soon after that, he was admitted to the hospital for surgery.
The news came after John lost Glenn Wheatley, his manager and longtime friend, in February. He was 74 years old when he died from complications related to Covid-19.

John Farnham Is Recovering After Surgery- Update On His Health
On Tuesday, 73-year-old John Farnham underwent a lengthy 12-hour operation to remove the tumor. Twenty-six medical professionals carried out the surgery.
According to Daily Mail, a major portion of his jaw had to be removed during the extensive procedure, which may mean the iconic singer will never perform again. His wife said that the cancer was found in his mouth, and it was successfully removed.
The family released a statement after the surgery was successfully completed. They said the singer was in stable condition in the ICU and would stay there for a while until he heals.
Jill and her two sons expressed their gratitude to the medical team who operated. They were in awe of the incredible team of medical professionals who guided them through the tough and challenging times.
