Dj Self Net Worth 2016
Dj Self earns a good fortune from his career as he lives quite a comfortable lifestyle which is quite eminent from his house and the car that he drives. In 2016 & 2017, the estimation of his net worth was around $2.5 to $3 Million.
DJ Self is a radio disk jockey, music producer and club DJ. Most of his income has come from his appearance in three seasons of Love and Hip-Hop: New York.
He is also the owner of GWININ Entertainment, which represents various hip-hop artists including Mariah Lynn, Major Galore and Dream Doll.
He is the founder and CEO of the fashion line GWININ, which sells tee-shirts and baseball caps.
Although Self was a popular figure in the New York music world for many years, he came to national fame in 2015.
That year, he appeared as a starring member of the reality show Love and Hip-Hop: New York. He had appeared in an earlier season but only in a brief cameo.
He was a fan favorite on the sixth season and was quickly singed up for the seventh and eighth seasons.

Dj Self Gwinin Fest
DJ Self is a “self” made man and radio personality for New York’s Power 105. In his spare time, when he’s not working on GWININ ideas (his brand) or in the studio, he’s a cast member for Love & Hip Hop season 6.
Yesterday was another episode of Love & Hip Hop, and stuff went down when our fellow DJ Self was supposed to host the event.
Well if you follow the show, you’d know that DJ Self has been planning for his big Gwinin Fest XL, where female MC’s would come to perform and battle for the best. In the last episode, Self had met with Yancy and Mendeecees to talk about the fest, where they detoured into some conversation about what the word “Gwinin” means. They came to the conclusion that it obviously means WINNING, but the “G” stands for a gangster or getting girls or something along those lines…lol
Well anyways, this week things got hot from DJ Self’s former side piece, Cardi B, after she found out details about Self’s music event, and realized she wasn’t invited to be apart of it. But in the words of Cardi B, whatevaaaa.
At the main event, the Gwinin Fest XL, the BBOD duo reunited (Mariah Lynn and Young B) before judges of the festival, Maino, Remy Ma, and Rich Dollaz (fellow creep squad member). During the event, another cast member, Rashidah, got involved in some kind of petty beef with one of Yandy Smith’s friends and ended up getting kicked out.
Finally, we had BBOD waiting backstage to find out the winner of the contest, which is where things get juicy! The drama pops off between two other cast members (Miss Moe Money & Mariah Lynn) about a restraining order.
Well, it seems as though DJ Self certainly had his hands full at his Gwinin XL Event. Even though the majority of the problems that happened didn’t really involve him, he somehow ended up in the mix because it was his event. To be honest, we think DJ Self deserves our exclusive DJ of the Week because I have no idea on how he deals with all the drama and still remains cool at the end of everything.
Keep tuning in to Love & Hip Hop on Mondays at 8 pm Est on VH1 to see our friend DJ Self on the big screen.

DJ Self Sheds Light On The Current State of His Relationship With Cardi B
Updated on: 29 October 2018.
If you thought DJ Self and Cardi B weren’t on good terms anymore, then somebody done told you wrong.
Over the weekend, DJ Self joined his home team for the 2018 Powerhouse concert that went down at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ. Among the top-billed performers was Cardi B, who at one point worked alongside Self on a couple for seasons of Love & Hip Hop. The two even got into a heated argument where Cardi accused the emcee of being “disloyal” for not supporting her music.
While some fans speculated that the Gwinnin’ general and Cardi were no longer cool, especially following an incident involving Nicki Minaj on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club, he dispelled those rumors with a simple post:
You still believe that story ? Bronx I see ya @iamcardib @artisthbtl NY in da building #powerhouse2018 can we smell colab????
A. Boogie With Da Bodak? Sign me up! Past differences aside, it looked as if it was a dope night overall. Cardi put on a full set and Self’s artist Dreamdoll fulfilled her long-time dream of hitting the Powerhouse stage. Dream was brought out by “No Limit” lyricist, G-Eazy.

DJ Self On “Love & Hip Hop,” Being An Entrepreneur & Modern DJ Culture
Even though he only recently hit the worldwide blogosphere after Nicki Minaj blasted him, DJ Self has been a well-known name in New York City for a good number of years. He’s got well-regarded freestyles with every New York rapper from Jim Jones to Maino, from Joell Ortiz to Lloyd Banks, and — his favorite — Fabolous.
“Fabolous is really out here doing his thing,” he said to us, exclusively, during an in-person interview at Power 105’s New York office. “He’s managed to remain relevant throughout all the changes in Hip Hop, while still remaining true to his style. And you can’t do anything but respect that.”
It’s no surprise that Self spoke highly of the rapper, who also got a profile boost after his supporting role on the hit VH1 show that also made Self a household name outside of New York City. Ridiculous drama aside, Fab can actually rap.
But those who think the man born Terrence Walker in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, only started receiving his props after his appearance on Love & Hip Hop: New York beginning in Season 6 are sorely mistaken. He’s been a professional DJ on the New York circuit since 1996 and has performed internationally since 1998. Boasting a deep association with the likes of Mos Def, Self was also the tour DJ for his artist, Black Jack Johnson. And, most of all, he’s sold thousands of mixtapes that feature hot exclusives from Hip Hop and R&B’s finest (including, most notably, the No. 1 best-selling Lox Family Mixtape).
And while this all suggests Self was cheapening his brand by going on Love & Hip Hop: New York, the longtime DJ and president of Gwinin Entertainment viewed the exposure as a positive thing.
“You know, I know what people say about Love & Hip Hop,” he said. “It’s a ratchet. It’s bird shit. It’s fake. It’s ghetto. But the truth is, people, don’t know how to capitalize on opportunities that are given to them. Regardless of what you think about the show, it’s an opportunity to get exposed to thousands — no, millions — of eyeballs. You can’t buy that kind of promotion. I got the opportunity to network like never before as a result of that show — to get real money, to tour all over the world, to jump on a plane to go here and go there, even with my Gwinin family. That show opened doors for me — I can’t deny that at all.”
Gwinin Entertainment is Self’s umbrella label that features music, fashion, live touring, and other elements of entertainment. It, too, was featured on Love & Hip Hop: New York, and the major story arc involved none other than Cardi B, with whom Self was purported to be involved. Ultimately, as the story goes, Self passed on the opportunity to work with Cardi B and chose, instead, to work with MariahLynn (with whom he was purportedly cheating on Cardi B, or so the story went on the show).
Cardi B, as we all know, went on to have a Billboard chart-topper in 2017 with “Bodak Yellow,” making her the first female artist since 1998 to land the No. 1 spot on the Hot 100 and jettisoning herself from Instagram model and wise-cracking Bronx stripper to worldwide rap sensation.
Self, however, doesn’t dwell on what could have been, choosing instead to focus on what is, right now, for himself and the artists he works with. “Fame isn’t always the ultimate goal,” he said. “Especially if it’s fame without money. You can keep that. I prefer to be an entrepreneur, and encourage the people around me to have that same entrepreneurial spirit, rather than focus on fame. The fame will come — but better that the money comes first.”
DJ Self can be heard on Power 105.1FM from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. every weeknight. His show can also be heard on the iHeartRadio app.
