This came to light after DirecTV and NFL Media agreed on their renewed partnership on the 27th of June. Across all three platforms of DirecTV, members can watch NFL Redzone and NFL Network.
This way, avid fans of the NFL can get an enhanced viewing experience while the long-standing partnership between the two parties can continue to flourish.
DirecTV lost the right to broadcast NFL Sunday Ticket in December 2022. However, DirecTV is still available for commercial businesses including restaurants, bars, and hotels based on their deal with EverPass Media.
The regular season of the National Football League will commence on 7 September and from August, DirecTV will begin to provide NFL RedZone to their subscribers.
Who Has NFL Sunday Ticket 2023?
YouTube TV owned by Google has NFL Sunday Ticket 2023. YouTube TV replaced DirecTV and will air the 2023 NFL Season starting in September.
YouTube TV signed a contract worth $2 billion to land this deal as reported by NBCnews. DirecTV used to pay $1.5 billion per year for the rights of NFL Sunday Ticket.
On 4 September 1994, DirecTV was hired as the sole distributor of this out-of-market sports package. But their deal ended after the 2022 NFL season.
It was heartbreaking especially for college students because DirecTV used to provide student discounts for the Sunday Ticket, unlike YouTube TV.
Until now, there has not been any news regarding the likelihood of a YouTube NFL Sunday ticket student discount. NFL Sunday Ticket is a special sports package that gives access to out-of-market Sunday games to its subscribers.
Is NFL Network On DirecTV Stream?
NFL Network on DirectTV stream was renewed on the 27th of June through NFL Redzone. Host of NFL Red Zone Scott Hanson will regain his role.
By signing this multi-year contract with NFL media, DirecTV will be extending its existing carriage of NFL Network on DirecTV. For the very first time, DirecTV will be streaming NFL RedZone across all platforms.
This agreement will allow them the distribution of NFL Network through DirecTV Stream and U-Verse. U-verse subscribers can obtain the NFL Redzone through the HD Premium Tier.
Previously, NFL RedZone hosted by Hanson was available on several cable providers, but DirecTV was an exception. Andrew Siciliano used to host DirecTV’s own version of NFL Redzone.
It is clear that only one version of NFL RedZone will be airing starting this season. Fans will miss seeing Siciliano as the host of the DirecTV Redzone Channel.
Even Hanson expressed his gratitude towards Siciliano during his final sign-off of the season.
