Dino Melaye is a Nigerian politician, who was a former Senator, and a former representative of Kogi West Senatorial district in the 8th Nigerian National Assembly.

Dino is a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) but decamped in 2015 to All Progressives Congress (APC) and later returned to PDP during preparations for the 2019 elections after much of a political struggle with Kogi State governor.

Dino Melaye was born on January 1, 1974, in Kano State, Nigeria as Dino Daniel Malaye.

Dino had his secondary education in command and Air-force Secondary School, Kaduna, and later in 2000, he graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he studied geography.

He has since school days been part of student leadership having served as president of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and later becoming the Secretary-General of African Youth Council and then that of the Commonwealth Youth Council.
