Dillian Whyte BoxRec, Net worth, Height, Age and Career

Dillian Whyte’s survival story has served as an inspiration to many. The heavyweight champion had a rough start in life and never thought he would get this far. He was a father at 13, was stabbed three times before he was 17 and had two bullet wounds in his legs for bad associations and choices, but boxing later made a good living. He is currently ranked eighth in the world and fourth in the UK at heavyweight level on the boxing charts. Learn more about him, including his boxing records.

Dillian Whyte Biography, Age

Dillian Whyte was born on April 11, 1988 in PortAntonio, Portland, Jamaica. He was born to Jane Whyte, a nurse. Nothing is known of his father, only that his partisan grandfather was Partrick Whyte who emigrated to Jamaica from his hometown of Dublin in Ireland.

The heavyweight boxer had a private childhood as he lacked the basic comforts a child should enjoy. He has numerous siblings whose identities are unknown. For his studies, Dillian started going to school in England when his family moved away because he remembers not having any in Jamaica.

When Dillian’s family moved to Brixton, London, he was 12 and joined a violent gang that changed his life for the worse. By the age of 16, he had been stabbed three times, first at age 13, then at age 15, and finally at age 16.

Also, by this time, he had become the father of three children, two boys and a girl. He must have grown up faster than he should after becoming a father at such a young age. He worked two jobs with a few other hustle and bustle on the side to make sure he looked after his loving family. The 6ft 4in tall athlete admits boxing saved his life because with the way he towed earlier he would end up behind bars or in a morgue.

Professional achievements and boxing records (BoxRec)

Whyte began his career as a kickboxer, although the exact date is undocumented. As a professional kickboxer, he became a two-time British heavyweight kickboxing champion by winning the British BIKMA Super Heavyweight title. He was also ranked UK No. 1 for five years in his 95kg weight class and won the K1 European Championship.

His blossoming kickboxing career ended with a K-1 record of 20-1. Prior to that, on December 6, 2008, Dillian Whyte made his professional MMA debut at the Ultimate Challenge MMA, where he challenged and defeated Mark Stroud 12 seconds into the first round.

He returned to amateur boxing in 2009 where he defeated Anthony Joshua by unanimous decision after 3 rounds. His amateur career was cut short following a dispute with ABA over his kickboxing background and so he turned pro in 2011, despite disapproval from his trainers.

Barely a year in professional boxing, DillianWhyte was banned in 2012 for using a stimulant called methylhexaneamine (MHA). He was sentenced to a two-year suspension, but he appealed to establish that he had not deliberately used drugs. His appeal was accepted on this ground, but dismissed on the grounds that he did not do enough to verify the contents and ingredients of the supplement he purchased, so the ban was not reduced. This was announced by the president of the appeal tribunal during one of the appeals.

Prior to this, Whyte had over 5 boxmatches, where he was victorious in all. On October 12, 2014 the ban was lifted and he was back in the rings, better and stronger. After the ban, Dillian’s first fight was against Croatian boxer, Ante Verunica on November 21, 2014 at the Camden Centre, Kings Cross, London. The match went two rounds with a stoppage when Dillian Whyte delivered a hard blow that knocked out Ante.

Since then, he has gone on to enjoy an incredible career, winning all of his fights except for a match against current IBO, WBA, Super IBF and WBO heavyweight champion, Anthony AJ Joshua on December 12, 2015. He fought AJ for the British heavyweight title in London’s O2 Arena and lost after a long match that lasted until the seventh round when Joshua gave Whyte a knockout uppercut. It was revealed that after this loss, Dillian focused on food and life, training harder and improving.

According to Dillianrecord’s professional boxing career, he appeared in 26 professional matches, collecting 25 wins; 18 by knockout and 7 by decision. His only defeat so far came against Anthony Joshua in 2015.

Currently, Dillian Whyte also known as TheVillian and The Body Snatcher is ranked eighth in the world and fourth in the UK at heavyweight level. He also holds the WBC Silver heavyweight title and previously held the British heavyweight title from 2016 to 2017.
