Difference between active calories and total calories

Active Calories (active energy) are calories that you burn by standing, moving around or other activity (including workouts). Active calories + resting calories (those used each day when your body is minimally active) = total calories.

A sedentary woman aged 19 to 30 burns 1,800 to 2,000 calories daily, while a sedentary woman aged 31 to 51 burns about 1,800 calories per day. An active woman between 19 and 30 burns about 2,400 calories per day, while an active woman aged 31 to 51 burns about 2,200 calories.

First, the Apple Watch, like virtually every other fitness tracker, doesn’t measure calories accurately. Stanford researchers tracked energy expenditure with the Apple Watch along with six other fitness trackers, and they found readings that deviated from their standard by up to 43 percent.

Should You Count Calories? “Calories in, calories out” certainly isn’t the only thing that matters for optimal health. However, when it comes to weight loss, calories do count. Although it doesn’t suit everyone, you may find that counting calories is an effective way to lose weight and keep it off.

Danger of deficiencies. The greatest dangers associated with a 500–calorie diet relate to vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Vitamin and mineral deficiencies can lead to many health problems. In fact, most people cannot meet their vitamin and mineral requirements if they eat less than 1200 calories per day.

The 1,500–calorie diet is a diet plan that people may try when attempting to lose weight. By eating fewer calories and exercising regularly, people can create a calorie deficit, which can lead to weight loss. Some people may choose to restrict their daily intake to 1,500 calories.
