Since San Antonio Spurs star Kawhi Leonard hurt himself falling on Zaza Pachulia’s foot, the big man for the Golden State Warriors has drawn criticism, but the NBA is allegedly not going to take any action.
ESPN’s Marc Stein stated on Monday that Pachulia won’t likely face any penalties from the league.
Pachulia was closing out Leonard on the outside during Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Sunday when the Spurs player raised for a jump shot and landed on Pachulia’s foot.
According to Michael C. Wright of ESPN, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich confirmed Leonard won’t participate in Tuesday’s Game 2 and also had harsh words for the play:
Did Zaza Pachulia injured Kawhi on purpose?
Most Spurs supporters, among others, believed it to be a dishonest move and demanded that Pachulia be penalized for the harm he caused. Gregg Popovich even compared it to manslaughter, adding that Pachulia’s purpose was irrelevant and that only his actions mattered.
Did Zaza get suspended for Kawhi?
According to reports, Zaza Pachulia won’t be punished for the play that hurt Kawhi Leonard.
