Ruah began her acting in Portuguese soap operas while she was still a teenager. Her debut acting role came at the age of 16 when she played the role of Sara on the soap opera Jardins Proibidos translated as “Forbidden Gardens”.

She also loved and enjoyed dancing. Her fruits paid off as she was the winner of the celebrity dancing competition Dança Comigo which is the Portuguese version of Dancing with the Stars. On January 8, 2018, it was confirmed that Ruah would co-host the Eurovision Song Contest 2018 in Lisbon, Portugal alongside Catarina Furtado, Sílvia Alberto and Filomena Cautela.
