You are the transmitter face at RTL …
Yes really? But Günther Jauch and Oliver Geissen have a bit ahead of me. But okay, I’m an important transmitter face. And of course that makes me a bit proud. I’m not a guy who constantly wants to change channels. I was built up, encouraged and trusted. I was also allowed to make mistakes. This is important.Yes really? What’s easier: to moderate alone or in pairs?
I think that alone is easier. Together, you always have to adjust to the other, have to give it space – and still take care to take place yourself. I prefer to moderate alone. You just have to focus on yourself. All I have to do now is watch the candidates.
Then the moderation at DSDS would be something for you …
Oh my goodness … I do not think that RTL wants to see me there. I have so many programs now – if I also moderate a whole season DSDS there, I can not do that anymore. I do not think that’s up for debate either. I was not asked. And for the audience that would probably not be good – he wants a bit of variety and not always the same face.Oh my goodness … I do not think that RTL wants to see me there. Can you describe Dieter Bohlen with four adjectives?
Honest, honest, honest, honest. He just always tells you what he thinks about you. Both on stage and behind. You have to be able to live with that. But I think it’s much better than talking behind the back … I’m fine with his style.
Do you also drink a beer with him?
That’s not it, we do not meet for whiskey. The man has a little child too. In addition, it is also exhausting for Dieter to go to a bar. The man has a name recognition of 100 percent. It would also annoy me to go out. I do not envy Dieter.
At the age of 18, they weighed 140 kilos. When did the moment change, to think?
I had the typical yo-yo effect problem. I have taken off and on again, then taken on and off again. Until last year, there was the turnaround. Since then, I train and jog every other day and have no weight problems – and weigh 85 pounds.

Jungle Camp 2018: Zietlow & Hartwich blaspheme themselves
The RTL presenters Sonja Zietlow (49) & Daniel Hartwich (39) in the XXL exclusive interview with GOLDEN CAMERA talk about the biggest bitches, Boris Becker, Lena Meyer-Landrut, cockroaches and maggots, mistrust on RTL – and reveal whether they would go to the jungle camp for one million euros.
Bad news for Australia’s cockroaches! As of January 19, 2018, many of them will end up on the plates of (presumably) a dozen starlets from Germany who have been ennobled by the tabloid press to “celebrities”. They are fed in Season 12 of “I’m a Star – Get Me Out of Here!”.
Golden Camera: Imagine if you were really broke – and gave RTL a million euros if you moved to the camp as a candidate. How would you decide?
Sonja Zietlow: I would go in!
Daniel Hartwich: For a million euros two weeks in the jungle – so please !? That might be due to the situation and what the alternatives would be. Maybe I would think about trying it again with honest work.
Sonja Zietlow: If that’s not honest. Or are you afraid of being an ass?
Daniel Hartwich: At the exams, I would just say, “Guys, I’m not just poor, I’m a bit too fat.” Where does that remind me again, a bit too fat and poor? I do not know either. In any case, I would be glad if I could take a little weight off, so I would not do any exams, but would lie down all the time and get thinner – and rich.
Sonja Zietlow: And then, most of all, you would only be there for a week, because you will be quickly kicked out or not getting enough calls.
Daniel Hartwich: Giant Deal!
How would you prepare, what would you do in case you went to camp?
Daniel Hartwich: Honestly, if I really went to the jungle camp as a candidate, then – as hard as it sounds – I would feed on rice and beans for a week, or at least three to five days before that get used to drinking as much as possible and then train my metabolism so that it does not cause me any major problems on the spot. And I would do without salt, alcohol, smoking, all this stuff. So that you at least not this great physical problem still has, if you go in there. That’s how I would probably prepare.
Sonja Zietlow: There are still enough other problems sitting there.
Daniel Hartwich: As a first luxury item I would buy earplugs and as a second luxury earplugs.
Sonja Zietlow: Me earplugs and a mosquito net.
Daniel Hartwich: Good idea, Sonja, good idea!
Boris Becker almost went to the British jungle camp. Would “Bobbele” also be a good RTL candidate, maggot feed and quota bringer?
Sonja Zietlow: Oh, he did not go to the British jungle camp?
Daniel Hartwich: Boris Becker would at least have something exciting to tell. The man has really experienced a lot. Of course. He’s my personal tennis hero, so honestly I would not have fed him cockroaches – but he would certainly be a good candidate.
Sonja Zietlow: Together with his wife Lilly. The two would certainly be a good candidate pair!
Daniel Hartwich: Two more years, Sonja, another two years.
Quick question round 1: Who would you rather see in the camp …
… in the category “most creative career crisis”: Sarah Lombardi or Lena Meyer-Landrut?
Daniel Hartwich: With Lena Meyer-Landrut, one would have to look pretty closely now, so that one sees them at all. Sarah Lombardi – that’s not a theoretical question. At some point this will happen.
Sonja Zietlow: What does she have to tell?
Daniel Hartwich: Well, how it was with the Pietro and the other.
… in the category “Wife packing out”: Lilli Becker or Erol Sanders “Rosenkriegerin” Caroline Goddet?
Sonja Zietlow: Lilly Becker.
Daniel Hartwich: Did not Lilly Becker tell you everything?
… in the category “Wutbürger”: “Anger Vegan” Attila Hildmann or Ingo from “daughter-in-law wanted” who ausrastete after a failed broadcast media effective on Facebook?
Sonja Zietlow: I do not know both.
Daniel Hartwich: I’m looking for Attila from daughter-in-law.
… in the category “media-savvy colleagues”: the tomboy-like Bause, the integre Vera Int-Veen or the luxurious Ludowig?
Sonja Zietlow: The Vera Int-Veen! There’s a lot going on, that’s a bundle of energy. I think they can get on your nerves, too.
Daniel Hartwich: I would prefer not to blaspheme about current RTL-colleagues. I wait until you have changed the station.
Sonja Zietlow: No. She has so much energy and sometimes you are overwhelmed.
Keyword jungle ticking – who are your “all-time hero” of the jungle bitch?
Sonja Zietlow: Desiree Nick.
Daniel Hartwich: Yes, but let’s call female candidates. I really have to say that I find it difficult now, in hindsight, still to blaspheme the people and to say who was a bitch and whom I found stupid. They all had their time at the camp and we both stay in the camp and God knows not to back the candidates with malice and ridicule. Somehow I have no need to follow or say who I think is stupid. That’s why I can not say who was or is a giant fool – Sonja?
Sonja Zietlow: Sure! Helena Prince! Although … she was not that bitchy, she was just … Helena Fürst.
Daniel Hartwich: Well, who you could call maybe the Honey (Alexander “Honey” Keen). He thinks that’s good to be called again. Honey, honey, honey!
Allegedly, Natascha Ochsenknecht, Matthias Mangiapane and Tatjana Gsell are breathing through the jungle in the 12th season. Why do you always hear the names of the participants so late that you can not reveal anything about them in interviews? Are you misunderstood at RTL?
Daniel Hartwich: I think RTL does not trust us. They think when they tell us the names that we tell the press. Anyone who knows me knows I’m not telling the press anything – except right now. But what usually haunts the press is usually correct, too.
Sonja Zietlow: So in the old days, that was always the case, that we really did not know that – and also the press. Then we went quite excited to the said meeting and said: ‘Well then start’ and then fell the first name and then the second – and that was then an exciting highlight, until sometime the names slowly leaked.
Daniel Hartwich: The only exciting highlight last year was Nicole Mieth.
Sonja Zietlow: Who?
Daniel Hartwich: Exactly! It remained a surprise until the end. Basically we could take this again this year.
More extreme and disgusting – this is the best way to describe the jungle tests from last year. And 2018?
Daniel Hartwich: The exams we learn only at this ominous meeting, in which we unite in a high-security room.
Which jungle examinations are you more interested in – the action-packed or the food tests?
Daniel Hartwich: The action packed. I remember this beautiful test with these cars on the course. I personally think that’s more beautiful. For me, last year we missed the fish-eye squeezing – with Marc Terenzi and Hanka Rackwitz – who had to squeeze the fisheye out with their mouths and drink the contents afterwards – the absolute limit of what I can endure. This is really hard to bear for me.
Sonja Zietlow: I remember, in the run-up I said: ‘Yes, my God, there may be a bit of water coming out, what the hell’, but when I saw it and since a lot of ‘Schlonze’ came out, I found it also quite disgusting. At the food tests, you always have to run away and look away – but well, that’s part of it. ”
Daniel Hartwich: Otherwise, I find tests in which a lot of Kreuch and Fleuch is not so cool, because we also get off the course. You always only think that the candidates get it off, but they are animals – they of course also come to us when something falls out or falls down somewhere.
Sonja Zietlow: In my pants purely …
Daniel Hartwich: I already had a cockroach in my underpants and I was really sick of the neck and everywhere being bitten by green ants. I know exactly how it feels, because of course the animals do not say: “Oh no, they do not – let’s go to the candidates!” They come to us, of course, and that’s why I’m always happy if it’s not too much creeps and flees.
Sonja Zietlow: But now there are not so many left. Oh, if the candidates are underground, it’s always funny. We have to look in such a monitor or try to look what they are doing down there. Then one can pretend that one does not hear them and go away.
Quick Quiz 2: Who was …
… your absolute favorite candidate?
Daniel Hartwich: Joey Heindle, because he was genuine and authentic and yet entertaining. He could laugh about himself and you could laugh at him.
Sonja Zietlow: Larissa Marolt, because I could laugh at her and she also about herself.
… the biggest annoyance?
Sonja Zietlow: Hanka Rackwitz, oh no, what’s her name here – Helena Fürst, the shrimp, the invertebrate.
Daniel Hartwich: So Kader Loth has me – oh no, here this, what’s her name, the redhead, who was in there: Georgina Fleur! It has almost brought me to the edge. That’s right, it annoyed me a bit.
… the worst actor in the camp so far?
Daniel Hartwich: Mathieu Carrière – joke! Mathieu joke! ”
Sonja Zietlow: Carsten Spengemann!
Daniel Hartwich: Jay Khan!
Sonja Zietlow: Ouh yes, he was bad!
Daniel Hartwich: Honey was also not very talented: “I can not breathe! I can not breathe! “- also not played very well.
Jungle Camp 2018: These “Stars” are:
Why is switching on worthwhile on 19 January 2018?
Sonja Zietlow: Because it’s the jungle!
Daniel Hartwich: Yes, yes!
Sonja Zietlow: Everyone is watching!
Daniel Hartwich: Basically you do not have to do any advertising for it. I think you want to watch it, or you do not want to watch it. It’s worth it, as it has always been worth the last few years.
Sonja Zietlow: The jungle is the jungle, is the jungle.
Daniel Hartwich: Yes. Thank you Mr. Otega.
Sonja Zietlow: That’s our credo.
